Get access to this comprehensive resource on fixing flat feet with exercise.
This site started back in 2012 as a fun project for me to blog about my attempt to correct my flat feet.
I was basically starting from scratch, since I had not seen anything like this done before.
Going through this process helped me discover the best exercises for correcting the problem, along with a lot of important details for making those exercises effective.
To share everything I’ve learned about fixing flat feet, I’ve created a special membership area of the site to present that information in a clear and organized format.
The membership area takes you through the entire process with detailed program tutorials, workout routines, and videos.
What’s Inside the Members Area
Developing arches in my previously flat feet required a comprehensive program of stretching, strengthening, and learning how to walk correctly.
With membership, you’ll have access to the full program I used to correct my flat feet and overpronation.
Guides and Tutorials
In-depth guides with expert instruction on the fundamentals of the program including foot posture, arch stability, and walking mechanics.
Sample routines organized into beginner, intermediate and advanced workouts. Also included are sections on creating routines and research on flat feet correction.
A collection of the 20+ exercises from the program with tips on proper form and progressions. All exercises are easy to perform at home with no fancy equipment required.
Exclusive articles on topics related to the program like reducing anterior pelvic tilt, correcting supinatus, foot mobility drills and more.
About the Program
When I first started putting together this program, most of the information I found online about fixing flat feet was too simple to be effective, or at least incomplete. My goal was not just to strengthen my feet. I wanted to create permanent arches that would hold their shape no matter what I was doing.
The program developed over time as I tested and learned what was needed to correct flat feet. Some of the exercises came from training programs, called Flat Foot camps, created by orthopaedic doctors during World War I to cure soldiers with flat feet.
These were combined with exercises adapted from research. I personally tested dozens of exercises and kept only what I knew was effective and would give me results in the shortest amount of time.
There are three main elements to the program: strength, flexibility, and control.
Strength refers to the amount of force a muscle can produce.
Flexibility refers to the elasticity of the muscles and connective tissue that allow motion at a joint.
Control refers to the ability to use the available strength and flexibility to prevent the arch from collapsing.
The program focuses on addressing each element, following a logical progression with set goals for each area.
What’s Not Included with Membership
There are many causes of flat feet and every individual is unique, so a one-size-fits-all solution doesn’t exist. I want to be clear that what I’m offering is not a program that promises results.
I believe many cases of flexible flat feet can improve and studies have shown this to be the case.
The membership content will help you discover a lot of great exercises and techniques that have helped me and many others.
However, since individual assessment is important, it’s not possible for me to say if this program would be right for you or to provide any specific advice or recommendations.
Hi, my name is James Speck. I’ve been a physical therapist for over 15 years with a special interest in the foot and ankle. I created this site several years ago to document my efforts to strengthen my arches and fix overpronation.
Going through this process gave me a new perspective on the importance of maintaining strong and healthy feet. It’s something I’m now quite passionate about and I’m excited to share this resource with you.
