Since publishing my first post on this site several years ago, I’ve collected a lot of useful information that enabled me to build normal arches in my previously flat feet.
To share everything I’ve learned about fixing flat feet with you, I’ve created an exclusive membership section of the site to present that information in a clear and organized format.
Why Fix Flat Feet?
For the longest time I accepted the common belief that my flat feet were a permanent condition. I tried wearing supportive shoes and using shoe inserts but without seeing any improvement.
Still, I was concerned about the effects of flat feet on the rest of my body. Not to mention being self-conscious about the way my feet looked.
I’ve always enjoyed working with computers and reading blogs, so I thought creating a website about my attempt to fix my flat feet would be a fun project.
At the start of this project I still wasn’t completely sure if what I wanted to do was possible. There wasn’t much information available on correcting for flat feet.
Using the knowledge of anatomy and exercise I’ve gained as a physical therapist, I started doing some basic arch strengthening exercises that I though might be helpful.
The initial progress I saw motivated me to continue working and researching to find out what I needed to do for the best possible result.
Getting my arches to look the way I wanted ultimately required a comprehensive program of stretching, strengthening and learning how to walk correctly.
This was not a quick fix, but I’m very happy with the results. And unlike my experience with orthotics and supportive footwear, this was a permanent fix.
From the beginning, I’ve been committed to making this site a quality resource by sharing my experience and the exercises and information I’ve learned along the way.
The membership program was created to provide an in-depth look at the whole process, with detailed tutorials, workout routines, and videos.
What’s Inside the Members Area
With membership, you’ll see the full program of exercises along with instructions on proper form and progressions. You’ll get demonstrations for improving posture and walking mechanics. Plus, I’ll go over tips for learning the movement skills needed for strong and stable arches.
Guides and Tutorials
The guides provide an in-depth look at the fundamental concepts of the program including developing good foot posture, improving arch stability, and learning to walk correctly.
The workout routines organize the exercises in the program with beginner, intermediate and advanced workouts. I also go over how I chose what exercises to work on and the criteria for deciding when to progress to harder variations.
There are over 20 exercises in total in the program. The exercise library contains pages for the individual exercises with tips on proper form and variations.
The special topics section has exclusive articles on important topics like anterior pelvic tilt, correcting supinatus, foot mobility drills and more.
What’s Not Included with Membership
I want to be clear that what I’m offering is not advice on what you should do or a program that promises results.
While flat feet can often improve with exercise, it’s not possible to say in general how effective a program like this is without more research. There are many causes of flat feet and every individual is unique.
It wouldn’t be right to claim there is a one-size-fits-all solution. The best I can do is show what worked for me.
I can say that I’m dedicated to making the membership area the best possible resource and do my best to respond to feedback from members.
Membership gives you full access to:
- Instructional guides on the program
- Workout routines and progressions
- An exercise library with detailed instructions
- A Q&A section to answer questions about the program
- Articles on special topics related to flat feet
Hi, my name is James Speck. I’ve been a physical therapist for 15+ years and have a special interest in foot and ankle health. I created this site several years ago to document my efforts to strengthen my arches and fix my overpronation.
Going through this process gave me a whole new perspective on the importance of maintaining strong and mobile feet. It’s something I’m now quite passionate about and I’m excited to share everything I’ve learned with you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this program help me build arches in my feet?
The content in the membership area shows what I found to be the most effective exercises and techniques for increasing my arch height and controlling pronation. I believe many cases of flexible flat feet (like mine) have the potential to improve using the same exercises and strategies.
But every case is unique and that's why I emphasize that what worked for me may not work for everyone. I can only provide general information and education.
There are other types of flat feet worth mentioning that are quite different from the flexible type that I had. These include:
- rigid flat feet (rare) where the bones of the foot fuse together making the foot flat in all positions--standing, sitting, up on toes etc.,
- conditions that cause spasticity or contracture of the heel cord (e.g. cerebral palsy) or other neurological conditions, and
- flat feet that are related to disease processes or injuries that alter the normal anatomy or functioning of the foot.

Can’t I just find this information for free online?
The membership area is special in that it combines everything that I personally found effective, the knowledge that I've gained from years of studying this topic and my experience as a physical therapist. I don't believe there is another resource like this.
Can I do the exercises in your program if I have an injury or medical condition?
As much as I would like to help, I cannot and will not provide any specific advice or treatment recommendations either through the site or by email. Please consult your physician or healthcare provider for your specific medical concerns and before starting any exercise program.
